Lou Becker and his wife Elizabeth have lived in Los Altos for 35 years. They have one son, Steve, who continues to live on the Peninsula. Lou has an MS degree in Civil Engineering, and is a member of its National Honor Fraternity. He has spent much of his career designing sophisticated instrumentation used in support of satellite communications and scientific research. He has a long history of experience in the design and construction of facilities for both national and international projects requiring close liaison with local government agencies. Lou helped to start a very successful company and is currently President of Vertex Antenna Systems. He has a strong and proven record in management at both corporate and project levels.
Prior to starting his professional engineering and management career, Lou was an Officer in the Army Corps of Engineers, where he served as a Combat Engineering Company Commander.
Lou has been active in support of youth athletic activities in the communof youth athletic activities in the community and has participated in numerous efforts to improve and protect the residential environment of Los Altos.
