If you are interested in joining one of the CSOA e-mail list server mailing lists, the following information will be important to you.

These are mailing list servers for the convenience and enjoyment of anyone interested in CS Yachts. They allow you to communicate with others who share that interest. You can send an e-mail message to the server, which will automatically forward it to all other list subscribers. As a subscriber, you can reply to messages, and the reply will go to all subscribers. The lists are absolutely not to be used for commercial messages or any purpose other than that stated above. Anyone abusing the privilege of joining the list will be removed from it at the sole discretion of the list moderator.

CSOA Groups.io

The following information pertains to CSOA Groups.io. Clicking the preceeding link will take you to a welcome page.

Subscribing

To add your name to this CSOA e-mail list, simply send an email to csoa+subscribe@groups.io. This will initiate your subscription request.

Unsubscribing

Should you ever want to unsubscribe from this list, simply send an e-mail message, from the address at which you are subscribed, to: csoa+unsubscribe@groups.io. No particular content or subject are required.

Sending messages

To send e-mail messages to all list subscribers, address the message to: csoa@groups.io

Replying

To reply to a posting you receive as a subscriber, simply use the REPLY function of your e-mail program.

Searching the archive and accessing other online resources

While most of the users send and receive messages through e-mail there are a lot of resources available within the groups.io website. You will be able to see the entire archive of CSOA messages since 2000, access files and photos shared by other CS yacht owners and view the CS wiki. All of this is accessed by going to: https://groups.io/g/csoa

Information about using this list

The list is open for anyone to join, subject to the restrictions noted at the top of this page. Your first post will need to be approved by a moderator so expect up to 48 hours for your first message to be posted. Nearly all posts are approved - only those that are judged to be in violation of the list rules are denied. If your application is denied in error, please contact the list owner and describe your interest in the list. Approval should then be quickly granted.

The list is set up to operate in 'non-digest' mode. This means that messages will be sent immediately upon receipt, rather than grouped. This makes the list more timely, but creates more traffic to users' mailboxes. Any user can change to digest mode, and receive one message daily grouping all the messages sent the prior day. You also can choose the option to be a subscriber to the list but not have messages mailed to you at all. To read the messages, you log onto the groups.io/g/csoa web site.

CSOA Yahoo Group

YAHOO HAS ANNOUNCED THE TERMINATION OF ITS LISTSERVS EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 15, 2020 Use groups.io instead

The CSOA Yahoo Group is the original messaging system for CSOA, but it no longer retains an archive of all the messages, since Yahoo shut this part of the service down in October 2019. At this point most members are moving to the new Groups.io system to access the latest information and also be able to search the history of all prior messages, including messages posted to CSOA Yahoo Group prior to October. You are encouraged to move to Groups.io but CSOA Yahoo Group is being retained in case someone decides they don't want to move to the new system.

The following information pertains to CSOA Yahoo Group.

To add your name to the CSOA list, simply send an email to CSOA-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. This will initiate your subscription request.

Unsubscribing

Should you ever want to unsubscribe from this list, simply send an e-mail message from the address at which you are subscribed, to: CSOA-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com. No particular content or subject are required.

You can also unsubscribe any e-mail address you have subscribed, even if you don't still have access to it, by logging on to the yahoo Group web site, at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CSOA

Change subscription address DO NOT SUBSCRIBE Use groups.io

To change your subscription address, go to the web site, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CSOA, unsubscribe your old address, and subscribe your new address.

Sending messages

To send e-mail messages to all list subscribers, address the message to CSOA@yahooGroups.com

Replying

To reply to a posting you receive as a subscriber, simply use the REPLY function of your e-mail program.

Please note the following about use of this e-mail list:

IMPORTANT: Yahoo Groups no longer support some features described above for CSOA Groups.io, such as message archive, wiki and digest mode. Many subscribers of the original Yahoo group have switched to Groups.io for that reason.
The list is unmoderated. Anyone can join it, subject to the restrictions noted at the top of this page.
Only subscribed users to the list can post to the list. Messages addressed to the list from non-list-members will bounce back to the sender.
Replies will be sent to the entire list. This is so that the list may be used for discussions which all list members can monitor.
All subscribers to the list will have their privacy protected. It is not possible for anyone but the list moderator to learn who has subscribed.
